What is the reinforcement strip?
On a banner, not everything is stressed the same way. The center endures almost nothing. The edges do: that's where the fixings go, and that's where the wind pulls. The reinforcement strip is a 5 cm wide PVC strip, welded to the back of the PVC banner on these high-stress areas: the perimeters, the eyelet lines, the corners.
Where the strip runs, the thickness is doubled. When the wind picks up, each 13 mm eyelet pulls on the material: without reinforcement, all the tension concentrates on a few millimeters of PVC around the ring. With the band, the strain spreads across the entire welded width. The material holds up better, and tearing starts much later.
The reinforcement strip does not replace the other finishes, it complements them. Thehem stiffens the edge, the eyelets provide the attachment points, the band doubles the material where they pull. The three together form an edge built to last. Price-wise: €3.00 per linear meter.
When should you choose the reinforcement strip?
- Large banner exposed to wind: the larger the surface, the stronger the wind load, and the harder the fixings pull.
- Banner reused from one event to the next: every setup and takedown stresses the same points, and the reinforcement gives them extra strength in reserve.
- Heavily stressed corners and eyelet lines: these are the first areas to give way on a tensioned banner.
