What is walk-on floor wrap?
Walk-on laminate, also called floor wrap, is a thick, non-slip lamination certified for foot traffic. It is applied over a printed adhesive intended for the floor. It is what turns a simple sticker into real floor marking: directional arrows, in-store floor advertising, aisle signage, sporting events.
Why is it essential? An adhesive applied bare to the floor has two problems. Safety first: its smooth surface becomes slippery, especially after washing. Then durability: shoe soles and cart wheels attack the print, and the graphic tears off within days. Walk-on lamination solves both. Its non-slip surface grips the sole, and its thickness withstands foot traffic, cart traffic, and floor washing.
The principle is the same as a protective glass pane: it is never the ink that takes the abrasion, it is the lamination. The print stays sharp underneath for the entire duration of the campaign, and the surface remains safe for the people walking on it.
When should you choose the walk-on finish (floor wrap)?
- Directional signage: guiding customers to a checkout, an aisle, an entrance.
- In-store floor advertising: a promotion placed right in front of the product.
- Aisle signage: row numbers, traffic flow, zones.
- Sporting events: start lines, course markings, partner logos.
- In short: whenever the adhesive goes on the floor. Without this lamination, it is slippery and does not last.
